Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the March 1-5 virtual Kerala Travel Mart 2021 (KTM), an event hat will give an aggressive push to the stateâs tourism that suffered a huge blow in the wake of the COVID pandemic but is now showing signs of resurgence.
This is for the first time that the event, which ensures a stellar convergence of domestic and foreign buyers in the vital sector, is being held virtually and in strict observance of the pandemic protocols.
Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will chair the inaugural function at the Uday Palace Convention Centre at Kowdiar in the heart of the city on February 28 at 7.30 pm. Finance Minister Dr T M Thomas Isaac will be the chief guest at the ceremony being organised by KTM Society, which is Indiaâs biggest organisation in the travel and tourism segment.

The 11th Kerala Travel Mart got off to a start on Sunday as Governor Arif Mohammed Khan inaugurated the country’s biggest tourism meet with a call to highlight domestic tourism for better collaboration among States and greater understanding between people.
“A better industry-level coordination in hospitality and transportation and an inter-State understanding to rationalize and simplify taxes and tariffs will help in leveraging the true potential of our domestic market in tourism,” he said, declaring open the March 1-5 virtual summit, through videoconferencing.

Kerala Travel Mart (KTM), the popular B2B tourism meet in the country, has invited domestic and foreign buyers to interact with 700 sellers across the world during its five-day virtual event next month in a bid to stimulate the sector in the post-Covid scenario in the state.
Buyers, media, visitors can register online for the virtual meet of the 11th edition of KTM to be held from 1 March. The event, which will showcase the excellence and alluring products of the sector, seeks to give a huge impetus to recovery of tourism from the throes of the pandemic that has considerably dulled the sector for a year now but now in a rebound mode, a KTM release said.
