Tim Doolin Accepts Teacher of the Year Award Teacher of the year, all American Wrestlers and an update on the Smart Start program were all topics on the May 4 Meeting of the District 2 School Board Tim Doolin 8 th grade English teacher at Sheridan Jr. High, was named the district Teacher of the Year. Rebbecca Adsit Sheridan Jr. High Principal, introduced Doolin, and had this to say about him as a teacher. Gena Hirschman of Meadowlark was named staff member of the year. Stephanie Zukowski presented some senior members of the High School Musical cast, and there were many compliments received on the performance of the show.

Mask Mandate, Scholarships Topics at April SCSD#2 Board Meeting – Sheridan Media

Mask Mandate, Student Athletics and Scholarship Recipients were on the agenda on the April SCSD #2 Meeting Scott Stults presented the eight seniors that received the UW Trustees Scholars award. They are: Megan Hoffmann, Micall Hoopes, Fisher Burris, Tyler Hegy, Marguerite Hubert, Brayden James, Julia Kutz, and Kathryn Moran. All plan to attend UW, and chairman Sue Wilson congratulated the students. Don Julian, activities director, introduced the SHS wrestling champions, and the indoor track team champions. Superintendent Craig Dougherty reported on the Smart Start, which is a partnership with Sheridan County Public Health, which is a way of continuing to evaluate the impact of Covid-19. According to Dougherty, Covid-19 cases are holding at low levels prior to spring break. “We are tracking the data and communicating regularly with health officials,” he said. GSG chosen to design Highland Park school project – Sheridan Media

GSG Architecture, formerly Malone Belton Abel PC, will design the project to repair the Highland Park Elementary School wall and roof repair. The firm was approved for the project in a meeting earlier this month. Craig Dougherty, who’s superintendent of Sheridan County School District 2, which owns the school, said the roof is 15 years old and has problems. Dougherty said the wall repair will be minimal. He said the major problem is the roof and that, in fact, is what’s causing some of the damage to the wall. Cost for design is around $120,000, but a memo presented to district trustees noted that the exact amount of the contract will be defined at a later date, after the full scope of the project is determined.
