A Shin Bet agent fired two bullets at the vehicle, hitting the windshield. He stopped firing when the driver stopped, got out of his car and shouted at the security forces that he is Jewish.  In a written statement, the Shin Bet said that a vehicle accelerated toward security forces in the Birzeit area, after hitting another car. “The forces, thinking the driver was attempting a car-ramming attack, shot at the vehicle. There were no casualties and an initial investigation shows it not an attempted terrorist attack. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated,” the statement added.
