No mortuary, ambulance, doctor at Nyajena Hospital – RadioVop Zimbabwe

Having been built in the 1930s, Nyajena Rural Hospital has not seen major developments to match modern hospital standards despite having a large catchment area and the absence of mortuary, ambulance and a resident doctor is among chief problems facing the institution. The hospital serves the whole of Chief Nyajena area which encompasses Masvingo South Constituency and part of Masvingo Central which is under Chief Shumba. The hospital’s catchment area stretches across Mutirikwi River in the northern side to Majiri area and to eastern side it goes into Zaka District where people from areas like Musenyereki, Mushaya, Mudzara and Charingeno areas.

Man found with 50 plants of mbanje in garden

MASVINGO RURAL – A man from Masvingo rural has been arrested by the Police for cultivating mbanje in his garden this afternoon in Gwengavi area, Village 32D under Chief Charumbira, The Mirror can reveal. James Manatsa (53) had plants ranging from 2.5m to 3m tall in his garden and was arrested for contravening Section 57(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act a source told The Mirror. When contacted for comment Masvingo ZRP spokesman Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the arrest but said he is yet to get details surrounding the case. A source told The Mirror that the Police were tipped by a person from the community about the mbanje plants in the morning and an Assistant Inspector identified as Gwite together with Constable Gombe of the Police Intelligence drove using their personal vehicle to Manatsa’s homestead and arrested him.

Masvingo cop attempts to murder pastor- hubby Mashava – A Masvingo Police woman has been remanded in custody on charges of attempted murder after she allegedly struck and injured her husband who is a pastor with a hoe handle. Yvonne Kufakunesu, a Police officer based at Masvingo Central allegedly attacked her husband Tachiwei Mutero of Faith Ministries International Church at home in Westonlee in Mashava on Wednesday last week. Tachiwei Mutero The Mirror understands that Kufakunesu had four days earlier appeared in court for pouring hot water on the pastor. Kufakunesu appeared before Chivi Magistrate Caroline Tafira on Tuesday February 16, 2020 and pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison to March 2, 2021.

Cop Bashed During A Beer Binge, Appears In Court For Breaking Lockdown Curfew

A junior police officer had the tables turned against him when his superiors arrested him for breaking the lockdown curfew after he attempted to file a police report alleging that he was assaulted during a beer binge. According to reports, after his arrest, Constable Patrick Phiri who is stationed at Ngundu police station in Chivi, Masvingo province was dragged to court where he appeared before Chivi magistrate Kudzai Dhemba. He is facing charges of contravening the Covid-19 induced lockdown restrictions, which prohibit the gathering of people at public places, and a curfew restricting movement from 6 pm to 6 am. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded out of custody to 20 February.

Female Cop Scalds Pastor Hubby With Hot Water In Infidelity Row

By Tonderai Saharo CHIVI: A 29-year-old female police officer this week appeared here after she allegedly scalded her husband who is a pastor with hot water following an infidelity argument which went soar. Constable Yvonne Kufakunesu stationed at Masvingo Central police station appeared before a Chivi magistrate facing domestic violence charges. Kufakunesu is married to Tachiwei Mutero (29), who is a pastor at the Faith Ministries Church and the couple resides at their Mashava home. Appearing for the state, Caroline Tafira told the court that last December, Mutero suspected his wife was having an extramarital affair with an unidentified man. On 30 December at around 9 pm while the couple was at home, Kufakunesu received a phone call from an unidentified caller whom her husband suspected to be the lover.
