Aid 4 Ummah delivers emergency food packs to Blackburn’s vulnerable Volunteers have distributed 50 emergency food packs to vulnerable people in Blackburn. Aid 4 Ummah teamed up with homebuilder Miller Homes to donate packs including tinned foods, large cartons of long life fruit juices, biscuits, crisps, UHT milk and packet mixes. Donations were also made to Hazeldene Care Home residents and users of Brammel House and the Salvation Army accommodation unit on Heaton Street. The collaboration comes as the homebuilder brings new houses to the Blackburn area with its Millrose development, located on Lammack Road.  Clare Noakes, Sales Director for Miller Homes in the North West said: “We’re very impressed with the hard work of the Aid 4 Ummah volunteers and thank them for issuing our donations to those who needed it the most. We’re looking forward to working with the charity again very soon.”

Morrison’s staff joined charity to observe fast during Ramadan Staff at Morrisons Blackburn joined charity Aid 4 Ummah and their Muslim colleagues in observing a fast. Non-Muslim colleagues made the decision to fast to gain a sense of understanding of how it feels to fast and also visited the Jaame Mosque on Cumberland Street to learn more about the religion and how the local charity has assisted people in the lockdown.  Aid 4 Ummah director, Salim Masum Mulla allowed the store manager Tracey Pugh and community champion Ryan Osman to gain an insight into the day to day operations of the charity, which included joining them on a drop off to the local Salvation Army to provide food donations as well as a guided tour of the mosque.
