Troy University Announces May 7th as Date for Spring Graduation

Alabama News Founding and senior pastor of Church of the Highlands Chris Hodges will provide the keynote address at commencement exercises at Troy University on Friday, May 7. Two separate commencement exercises will be held in Trojan Arena, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Guests must escort the graduate into the arena. Overflow seating will be available in Veterans Memorial Stadium, with the ceremony being shown on the stadium’s video boards. Graduates from the College of Education, the College of Health and Human Services and the College of Communication and Fine Arts will take part in a 10 a.m. ceremony. A 3 p.m. ceremony will feature graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sorrell College of Business.

Stark County Prosecutor Stone to Deliver Mount Union Black History Month Keynote Thursday February 15, 2021 ALLIANCE, Ohio  The University of Mount Union’s annual Black History Month Keynote Address will be delivered by recently-elected Stark County Prosecuting Attorney Kyle Stone on Thursday, February 18 at 7 p.m. Stone, elected in November, is Stark County’s first-ever Black elected prosecutor. The Canton native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in law and liberal arts from The University of Findlay, a Master of Ministry degree from Temple Baptist Seminary, and a Master of Public Administration degree and Juris Doctorate from The University of Akron.

Morgan, director of library services and a professor at Lee University, has completed a post-graduate certification course through the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Dr. Morgan’s certification included studies of “Communicating for Influence and Impact” through the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. “I have a great affinity for Cambridge, so the opportunity to take a course, even if online from home, is very meaningful to me,” said Dr. Morgan. “It was quite an adjustment with the time commitment and reading required, but I was stretched, corrected, affirmed, and motivated by tutors and peers from many countries throughout the world.”
