أبوبكر بن عبد الرحمن بن الحارث تابعي جليل وفقيه عظيم، وهو أحد فقهاء المدينة السبعة، وكان يُسَمَّى الرَّاهب؛ لكثرة عبادته، وكان من سادة قريشٍ، وكان أبوه من التابعين الكبار، ولجده الحارث بن هشام بن المغيرة رضي الله عنه صُحْبَة مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم.
أسلم يوم الفتح، ثم حسُن إسلامُه، وخرج إلى الشَّام مجاهدًا وحبس نفسه في الجهاد، ولم يزل بالشام إلى أن استشهد في اليرموك .
قال محمد بن عمر رضي الله عنه: ولد أبو بكر في خلافة عمر بن الخطاب، وكان يقال له: راهبُ قريش، لكثرة صلاته، ولفضله .
