Solar Panels are one of the innovations that are being focused on to help reduce energy consumption across the globe. This technology allows people to convert sunlight into electric energy. However, some of the current solar cell products have limitations that prevent its people to use their full potential.

Solarmine is a new six-acre demonstration project installed by the ChevronTexaco subsidiary, Chevron Energy Solutions, (Chevron ES) in collaboration with United Solar Systems Corp. It can store and harvest energy from the human body to small power electronics. However, there is no confirmation if the energy it produces is enough to power a smartphone or other daily gadgets.

They said that by inserting carbon nanotubes in the plant s leaves, the organism can detect the presence of nitroaromatics, which is a compound usually used in landmines and other explosives.
