Weasenham man died at home after overdose on Christmas Eve, inquest told  | Updated: 14:47, 11 December 2020 An elderly man died on Christmas Eve last year after an overdose of medication, an inquest heard today. Derek Hopkin, who was 87, was found at his home on Massingham Road, Weasenham, on the afternoon of December 24, 2019 after a call to emergency services. The court was told that Mr Hopkin, a retired engineer, had been having difficulty sleeping because of an upcoming court case. Norfolk Coroner s Court In a statement which was read to the court, Mr Hopkin s neighbour, Jim Harper, said he had been caring for him periodically and had watched him become a very frail old man.
