Massachusetts State Trooper Thomas L. Clardy
On March 16, 2016, Massachusetts State Police Trooper Thomas L. Clardy was killed during a routine traffic stop on the Mass Pike in Charlton when a car slammed into the back of his cruiser. Trooper Clancy was a Veteran of both the Army and Marines. He left behind a wife and six children. His killer, 30 year old David Njuguna of Webster, is currently serving five to even years in state prison. Prosecutors said that Njuguna was driving under the influence of marijuana and that his conduct was wanton or reckless when he crossed over three lanes of traffic and crashed into Clardy s cruiser.
