Indian Embassy’s festival delights Urdu lovers in Saudi Arabia By News Desk|   Published: 14th March 2021 7:22 pm IST Jeddah:  The Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the New Delhi-based National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) have announced an international Urdu conference to be held in Saudi Arabia. The Indian ambassador to the Kingdom, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, and the council’s president, Dr. Aqeel Ahmed Sheikh, made the announcement during the two-day virtual Urdu festival, Jashn-e-Urdu, that was broadcast live in Saudi Arabia. Sheikh said that the NCPUL is committed to work for the promotion and development of Urdu wherever possible. It is ready to extend full support and cooperation for any activity promoting Urdu, even in foreign countries. The ambassador said that the grand international Urdu conference would be held in Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the NCPUL after the lifting of restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bazme Sadaf Doha chapter organises condolence meeting  21 Feb 2021 - 9:28 The Peninsula Doha: An online meeting was organised to offer condolence on the demise of the mother of Shakeb Ahsan, patron of Bazme Sadaf International (BSI) Doha chapter.  She had tested positive for COVID-19 and after battling the disease for three weeks in Zahra hospital, UAE she breathed her last a week ago. She was a teacher in Patna, (India) and was living with her husband and younger son, Shadab Ahsan in UAE after her retirement. President of BSI Doha chapter, Dr. Nadeem Zafar Jilani Danish mentioned that BSI members from across the globe had sent messages of condolence for its patron and due to the pandemic circumstances, it was felt that an online meeting should be arranged for members to express sympathy with Shakeb Ahsan & his family at this hour of grief.

Bazme Sadaf International organises Urdu conference and poetry symposium  09 Feb 2021 - 8:52 Participants during Gulf Urdu Conference and Mushaira. The Peninsula Doha: Bazme Sadaf International (BSI) organised a first-of-its-kind Gulf Urdu Conference and Mushaira (poetry symposium) on February 5 and 6.   The online event was mainly facilitated by the Kuwait Chapter of BSI and watched by thousands via Facebook Live. The theme of the first day’s international seminar was to highlight the achievements of various organisations active in GCC countries for the promotion of Urdu language and literature and recognise the individual writers and poets from each GCC nation. The event was inaugurated by BSI Chairman, Shahabuddin Ahmad.
