Coronavirus vaccination drive likely to meet 100pc target in Multan in eight months

MULTAN: The current pace of the coronavirus vaccination drive demonstrates that in Multan division it would meet the 100 percent target in terms of inoculating people in the next eight months.
According to official documents, a continuous fluctuation in the vaccination drive is witnessed at a wider scale but overall drive results showed increased vaccination than the daily target set for the Multan division.
Doctors underlined the need to do more and expedite vaccination drives as the corona spike and fourth wave is knocking at the doors. Some health professionals were of the view that the pace of current vaccination is slow due to shortage of health professionals and the vaccination drive needs to accelerate to combat the fourth wave.

MULTAN: The third and last child of an ill-fated family lost his life to quackery on Saturday, two days after his elder brother and sister had died at the Nishtar Hospital, where they were admitted for treatment after their condition became critical when they took medicines given a homeopath.
The three children of a kiln worker, Khadim Hussein, 42, started dying one after the other from Friday after taking medicines prescribed by a quack, who claimed to be a homeopath, licensed by the Punjab Healthcare Commission. Muneeb Hussein, 5, died after his elder brother Danish Hussein 9, and sister Tahira, 7, had lost their lives at the hospital, fighting harmful side-effects of homeopathic medicines.

MULTAN: Activists of civil society, lawyers and political workers Tuesday staged separate demonstrations against Israeli aggression and expressed solidarity with innocent Palestinians.
Activists of an organisation staged a demonstration at chowk Nawan Sher and urged the Arab countries to close embassies of Israel in their respective countries.
They said the Israeli attacks were more than terrorism. They urged global leaders to fore Israel to halt attacks on innocent Palestinians.
