The Chico High School girls swimming team has built a legacy the last 11 years, and at Wednesday's Northern Section Championships the Panthers proved their power once more.
The brother-sister duo of Dillan Perry and Marina Perry helped lead the Chico High boys and girls swim team to a victory against Pleasant Valley in this year's Fish Bowl, held at Bidwell Junior High School. Both teams now prepare for the Northern Section Division I swim championships which will be held Oct. 25 at Shasta High School, before the Master's meet on Oct. 28 in Redding.
Chico High senior Mason Winzenz has been an All-Eastern Athletic League swimmer and First Team at the Masters meet his first two seasons with the Panthers (unable to compete his freshman season due to the pandemic), and is on his way to a third straight his senior season. Due to Winzenz's success throughout his swim career as a Panther, he has been named this week's Chico Enterprise-Record Prep Athlete of the Week.
