Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival kicks off in Cañon City

CAÃON CITY â As the summer if no more COVID-19 restrictions continues in Cañon City, the popularity of tradition festivals is sky rocketing.
âWe have just been fielding questions left and right, far more than we ever have. As the event coordinator, Iâve never been contacted so many times before the event and this is my third time doing it, said Chris Moffett, the Whitewater Event Coordinator.
According to Moffett, organizer did not even know if a 2021 festival would be possible until about five months prior, saying That is why we are doing it late in July this year, but itâs turning out to be a really nice weekend . The festival would usually take place back in May.

A couple dozen kids recently christened Colorado’s newest mountain bike skills park, offering delighted whoops as they maneuvered over the rollers and kickers and then raced back up the return trail to do it all again.
En route, they offered to-the-point reviews of the Cañon City park :
“It’s awesome,” said 15-year-old Bryce McDowell of Pueblo after he cleared the largest jump.
“It’s cool,” said 9-year-old Maya Lenard, who noted she liked the rollers the best.
