(ABC 6 News) Starting February 15, Mason City school officials say they will offer two options for students, full-time in person learning and continuous online learning.
The Mason City Community Schools says they decided to implement this plan after Governor Kim Reynolds approved Iowa Senate File 160 and signed it on Friday.
School district officials say full-time in-person learning will follow the 2020-2021 calendar.
Wednesdays will continue to be an early dismissal day to allow staff to be able to plan for online learning. Half-day dismissal on Wednesdays also meets the requirements set forth in Senate File 160 and provides staff dedicated time for planning/work with continuous/online learning and professional development.
