Grande Prairie City Council has decided where to designate the city’s nearly $2.4-million in operating surplus.
Multiple projects will be the beneficiary of the city’s spending during the course of 2021.

“In the over $7-million of projects we are doing this summer, such as the activity centre in Smith, the bike park in Crystal Park, some of our linkages in our trail system and a bridge in Maskwoteh Park, there were parts of those projects that needed to be worked on and priced early in the construction season,” said Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “There are some elements of some of these projects that we may not get support or approval for by the federal or provincial government.”
