MUMBAI: Two train ticket examiners, who were on board of an air-conditioned suburban local on Central Railway’s main line, handed over a wallet containing Rs 25,000 in cash to the passengers who had lost it in the compartment on Wednesday.
CR ticket checkers Gunjan Kumar and Virendra Kumar Gupta had boarded the train from Dombivli on Wednesday morning. Passenger Ankit Seth, who had lost his wallet, had boarded the train at Thakurli at around 7,50 am and alighted at Byculla.
TC Gunjan Kumar said, A passenger, who spotted the wallet lying on the floor of the compartment, handed it to us. We found a visiting card on which we contacted a person who confirmed that he was the owner of the wallet which was missing from him.”
