Alan Irving was just like the rest of us. He was confused by the information and misinformation that was spreading about Covid, lockdown rules, vaccines and the rest. But, unlike the majority of us, he decided to do something about it. The result is the Allerdale Area Covid-19 Support Group, a Facebook page with just under 4,000 members. Alan, 56, has become familiar to the NHS, local MP and doctors and nurses as he ensures that everything that he puts on his Facebook page is helpful and true. It is non-political and he will soon step in if anyone uses and abuses the page for anything other than honest Covid discussion along with a few good-humoured, inoffensive jokes.
COVID-19 vaccines rolled out across north CumbriaÂ

Every primary care network across north Cumbria is now delivering COVID-19 vaccines to over-80s and care home residents and staff.
There are eight networks â groups of GP practices working together in local areas â and the vaccine is now being delivered from nine locations.
The teams are also visiting local care homes and the homes of housebound patients and those with mobility issues, to ensure the most vulnerable residents get the vaccine.
Primary care teams, including GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, healthcare workers, admin staff and a significant number of volunteers from a range of organisations, have worked together to get the new hubs up and running.
