Prisoner who claims he accidentally drank human blood has lawsuit revived by Pa. court

Prisoner who claims he accidentally drank human blood has lawsuit revived by Pa. court Updated Feb 18, 2021; A state prison inmate who claims he accidentally drank human blood in the jail’s cafeteria has had his lawsuit over the incident at least temporarily revived by a state appeals court. The problem, Judge Mary P. Murray wrote in the Superior Court’s opinion, is that it’s hard to tell why Sean Burke’s suit was dismissed in the first place. Burke, who is serving time for a 1990 murder in Philadelphia, claims he was exposed to the blood after another prisoner who was working in the kitchen of the state prison at Rockview cut himself on a chipped cup.

Court vacates sentence for Morrisdale man | News, Sports, Jobs

pray@altoonamirror.com When two Clearfield County police officers found a Morrisdale man asleep at the wheel of his car parked in the lot of a Walmart Supercenter two years ago, they immediately detained him, and in an ensuing search, found 61 grams just over 2 ounces of methamphetamine. The officers, Lawrence Township Police Chief Douglas Clark and Patrol Officer Eric Routch, charged Brandon James Kifer, now 40, with driving under the influence, possession with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. A jury found Kifer not guilty of the DUI offense, but guilty of the drug charges, and 17 months ago, Clearfield County Judge Fredric J. Ammerman sentenced Kifer to five to 10 years in a state correctional institution.

Chonic child molester deserves no break on 15- to 30-year jail term, Pa. court says

Chronic child molester deserves no break on 15- to 30-year jail term, Pa. court says Updated Dec 22, 2020; Kevin Partello has spent the last 32 years amassing a record of convictions for child-sex crimes. That list began when Partello, now 55, was convicted of molesting eight boys in Lancaster County in 1988. At the time, he was a student at Lancaster Bible College and was working with a youth group. In the intervening decades, he was convicted again and again for such crimes and for failing to register with police as a sex offender. The result is that Partello is back behind bars, sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison for violating his probation from that 1988 conviction.
