SALISBURY, Md. – Our very own News Director’s daughters were recently honored for receiving the “Right Care When It Counts” award from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical System Services.
Olivia and Briana Truitt were awarded for their creation of sensory kits that will be utilized by EMS personnel to help manage individuals, adults or children, who have sensory complications such as autism. The kits include items such as toys, sunglasses, Rubix cubes, headphones, and other items that would keep them calm during EMS encounters.
