Rosie was quiet as a mouse. The only noise came from my boots slapping in the mud here and there as we walked the Bluebird Haven Trail this week in Victor. We didn’t see a bluebird, but I believe we would have if we had been able to stay longer.
Signs of them were everywhere.
The one-mile loop trail is in the 39-acre MaryFrances Bluebird Haven, on Victor-Egypt Road (across from the Valentown Road intersection).
Bluebird boxes are strategically placed throughout the sanctuary to provide bluebirds with cozy, protected places to nest. The park is all about preservation and restoration of bluebirds, New York state s official bird.
