The Cinemalaya congratulated the film’s production team for winning Best Screenplay at the prestigious event held in Barcelona.
“Theodore Boborol’s ISKA won Best Screenplay at the 7th Asian Film Festival – Barcelona’s Special Section program. Congratulations to Mary Rose Colindres, Direk Ted, and their team for this recognition,” Cinemalaya said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
Earlier, actress Ruby Ruiz won international awards for Best Actress for her performance in the film, thrice: At this year’s 6th Herat International Women’s Festival in Afghanistan, the 15th Harlem International Festival in New York City, and 15th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.
