A Trigg County man who was indicted on sexual abuse charges last year was arrested last week after allegedly violating his bond release and being within 500 feet of one of his victims.
During Trigg Circuit Court Rule Day Wednesday, Gene Bush appeared virtually from the Christian County Jail.
According to a Cadiz Police Department arrest citation, Bush was at the Cadiz Restaurant on Thursday, May 6, while his victim was working a shift. Bush told Circuit Judge Woody Woodall he did not know his victim was at the restaurant. Bush was arrested the next day on a Trigg County Circuit Court bench warrant signed by Judge Woodall, charging him with contempt of court.
A Trigg County woman facing two charges of manslaughter concerning the death of her two young children has been ordered to return to jail.
Keyona Bingham and public defender Mary Rohrer appeared virtually before Judge C.A. Woodall Wednesday afternoon. During the appearance, Bingham admitted to being under the influence of opiates at the time of the birth of her child in January, with Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins further explaining the situation.
The child was taken away from Bingham.
Rohrer said that a previous bench warrant was recalled February 19, after Bingham failed to show up for her previous court date on February 10.
