Diaz, Natalio "Nacho" 81, of St. Paul, MN, died at home on March 27 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on April 23, 1942 in Sete, France and moved to Madrid, Spain at age 11. Nacho met Mary Rockwood while she was studying abroad and the two married in 1970. Together they became parents and raised daughters Elena and Cristina in St. Paul. He earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Madrid and later a Masters of Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Nacho was well known for his skills as an urban planner and his command of public policy. He proudly served at the Metropolitan Council for over 30 years - eventually as their Director of Metropolitan Transportation Services. He retired in 2005, but remained active as a consultant and advisor. Nacho was a travel enthusiast and always looked forward to his next adventure with his later in life companion of 25+ years, Janice Martin. The two supported each other through thick an
