Paul and Siobhan Lawless’s house is remarkable. Not because it’s very big close to 5,000sq ft or because the front lawn is dominated by a giant dolmen. Nor is it because it has many dramatic contemporary interior features such as the mezzanine over the double-height hall, all of which would be big talking points in the case of any other house. What makes Paul and Siobhan’s house so special is it was started in 2010, yet not completed until nearly 10 years later and, in the intervening years, the couple experienced a catastrophe that would break many a person, but happily not this resilient pair.
