KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 Malaysia and Canada have shared diplomatic ties for nearly 66 years, and via the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific.
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has seen a 25 per cent increase in bilateral trade with Canada since 2018, bolstered by the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which came into force for Malaysia in November 2022.
The Canadian government will do its best to support First Quantum Mineral, the trade minister said on Tuesday without elaborating, as the Canadian miner deals with the fallout from the closure of its flagship copper mine in Panama. "First Quantum Mineral is a really important Canadian company," Trade Minister Mary Ng told reporters in Ottawa. "I've met with them, I continue to meet with them, and really, I'm really looking to supporting the Canadian company . as best as we can," Ng said.
