Police searching for suspects who set 3 homes on fire in Taft

TAFT, Texas Taft police, along with the US Marshals continue their search for the suspects responsible for deliberately setting a home on fire on Monday morning in Taft.
The fire caused three houses on Elm Street to be destroyed in the flames. Local residents said they still have lingering concerns.
As of Tuesday, the scene remains locked down as it awaits a thorough investigation from the Fire Marshal.

Then a toddler’s voice.
“Mama boo boo,” it said. “Boo boo.”
The dispatcher is back, asking, “Is the person conscious?”
“No,” Daniel Roberts said. “No.”
The toddler’s voice on the 911 tape appears to belong to Savanna Marie Roberts. The 2-year-old girl was at her father’s home the night he shot her mother, Melissa Mendoza, in the back of the head. He said it was self-defense. A jury last week convicted him of murder.
The shot had woken the little girl, Daniel Roberts had said. He phoned his father who lived up the road to come and take Savanna away from the scene of the shooting.
Teams take vaccines to area homes

The COVID-19 vaccine hit the road in a mobile unit to bring the shot to those who are home-bound.
“This is incredibly rewarding for us all to be able to get out into our community and help get people vaccinated, especially those with mobility issues,” said Sandoval County Fire and Rescue Chief Eric Masterson.
The Mireles family was in high spirits on Wednesday when SCFR Battalion Chief Greg Bobick and firefighter-paramedic Shannon Farrell showed up at their house with five Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
