(via Village of Wilmette) WILMETTE, IL Brigette Berger-Raish, Wilmette s director of engineering and public works, has been named one of the 2021 Top Ten Public Works Leaders of the Year, one of the highest honors awarded by the American Public Works Association. Winners of the 62-year-old award are chosen by past recipients of the Top Ten designation, which is based on professional contributions over the course of a career, according to the association. Berger-Raish has worked for the village for the past two decades.

Sidewalk You know the problem - the sidewalk outside your home may need a repair – but it’s costly and not a priority. The City Of Ventura are launching the Safe Sidewalks Program, which reimburses 50% of the repair costs – up to $2500 per property – with some qualifying residents receiving 75% of repair costs. Mary Joyce Ivers – the deputy public works director at the City Of Ventura – says she hopes it’ll expedite sidewalk repairs throughout the City. The reimbursement program is funded by Measure O, residents must apply by March 31, 2022, and need approval before starting repair work with their selected contractor.
