James (Jim) Coolidge

Wednesday, May 5, 2021 James A. Coolidge, 76, of Lewistown, died Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021, at home as a result of ALS. He was born Nov. 11, 1944 in Lewistown, the son of Harold and Gladys (Lander) Coolidge. Jim attended school in Lewistown, graduating from Fergus County High School in 1964. He was a member of the Montana Army National Guard until his discharge in 1971, holding the rank of SSG E-6. He was involved in Amateur Radio, holding the call sign KC7OUL. Jim began his career working for Mountain States Telephone on Sept. 12, 1966 and retiring from US West Oct. 1, 1966. He worked many places in Montana as an equipment installer for 10 years. He then worked in Glasgow, Montana as an installer, repairman and in the central office. He moved from Glasgow to Helena, and in 1981 moved to Salt Lake City where he worked in the engineering department for 16 years until his retirement. Upon retirement he returned to Lewistown where he resided until his death.
