Wayne, Holmes Ashland reacts to Capitol riots: Hard to stomach

Since June 1, demonstrators in support of Black Lives Matter have gathered on the Wooster Square from noon to 1 p.m. every day. On Thursday, they added some thoughts about the protesters supporting President Donald Trump who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. “It was disgraceful and unbelievable. I hardly slept last night,” said Mary Hruby, a resident of Wayne County s Chester Township. “It was so far removed from anything we’ve ever seen in our democracy. I just still can’t believe it. Trump was the author of it.” The difference in treatment between Black Lives Matter demonstrators and the protesters in D.C. did not go unnoticed by the group on the square Thursday.
