There were 130 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo region on Wednesday. Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang reminded people planning Christmas events that 'no gathering is risk-free' but there are things people can do to keep everyone safe.
There were 232 new COVID-19 cases reported in Waterloo region on Thursday. That was the highest number of cases reported in a single day since the start of the pandemic, surpassing 203 reported on Jan. 10, 2021. As well, there were 16 outbreaks in area schools with eight new outbreaks declared.
Region of Waterloo medical officer of health Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang reminded residents they should continue to follow public health measures this holiday season. The region reported 172 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
