Pelican Rapids teenager Logan Hahn is one of more than 80 regional artists contributing their time and talents to the 150 Sails Up in DL public art project, which will be unveiled at an April 30 Regatta Party inside Kent Freeman Arena in Detroit Lakes. But Hahn s story is a unique one: The 15-year-old was born with cystic fibrosis, an inflammatory disease that affects both her lungs and digestive functions. She uses her art to raise funds and awareness for area nonprofits like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Make-A-Wish.
150 Sails Up Regatta Party set for April 30 in Detroit Lakes
A public art project known as 150 Sails Up in Detroit Lakes, which has been in the making since last summer, will be unveiled at a special Regatta Party set for Friday, April 30 at DL s Freeman Arena. The 150 Sails Up public art project to commemorate Detroit Lakes 150th anniversary is entering its final phase where the two-dimensional artists designs are made into three-dimensional art but there s still time to claim one of the 24 smaller, tabletop-size sculptures still up for grabs before the final sponsorship sign-up deadline expires this Sunday, Feb. 28.
