The Senate legislation would retain a hybrid Board of Education of six elected members by district and three appointed, but changing who would make the appointments. Currently, appointments are made by the governor; the senators’ amendment would have the Harford county executive and county council decide on the appointees.
The Harford County Delegation opted to table for one week voting on an amendment to a bill that seeks to change the makeup of the county’s Board of Education from elected and appointed members to a fully elected board.
