The collision took place on Lindale Hill, A590. A picture shared by South Lakes Police highlighted the significant damage to the driver’s white car. Fortunately, the driver escaped uninjured, with the police stating that he was ‘very lucky’ to do so. It prompted calls from the county’s police and crime commissioner Peter McCall urging drivers to take care on the region’s roads. He said: “We all need to be extra careful with the adverse conditions at the moment. “The police constantly put out messages to drivers to take care because we do feel the brunt of the weather, often flooding and people driving through flood water, and obviously people should avoid that.
