The Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) reported that it has sent 360 oxygen cylinders to different hospitals in four regions across the country to improve the care of critical patients affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ancash Healthcare Network Director Hermelinda Cosme reported that 50 oxygen cylinders of 10 cubic meters each were delivered by EsSalud to optimize COVID-19 areas at Hospital No. II of Huaraz. The new batch of oxygen cylinders will be allocated to the most critical areas at the hospital, such as the intensive care unit (ICU), where patients require high-flow oxygen, she explained. In addition, the regional official noted that this donation is very important for the city of Huaraz, since it contributes to efforts in the fight against this pandemic, in view of the difficult situation that the country is undergoing due to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
