Reached mid-afternoon, Macon County Clerk Josh Tanner confirmed that turnout is still âvery, very low,â with most polling places having less than 100 voters.
âOther than that, everything s running smooth,â Tanner said. âWe haven t had any calls about equipment failures or anything like that. All the judges reported for work, so we re staffed up and ready to go, just waiting on the voters.â
Tanner said they anticipate more voters will come out in the evening before polls close at 7 p.m.
âAs people get off work, especially with the weather being nice, we do anticipate that after five o clock, we ll get some more voters,â Tanner said. âBut it ll still be relatively low.â

DECATUR â There are currently 12 candidates vying for three seats on the Decatur City Council, but that number will soon be whittled down to six as voters cast their ballots in the Feb. 23 primary election and decide who makes it to the April 6 general election.
