The 2020 coronavirus pandemic that forced many people to work from home also brought about an upgrade of appliances, at first microwaves and later refrigerators that were getting extra workouts.
The benefit for companies like Sweden’s
Electrolux, though, is probably coming to an end, as that appliance manufacturer has likely peaked, said analysts at Ciitgroup, who downgraded shares to sell from neutral in a recent note to clients.
Shares of Electrolux have gained 20% in the last six months, though they are barely higher as 2020 comes to a close. “We think demand remains high in Q4 but is now at its peak, and that increasing raw-material headwinds present risks to 2021,” said a team of analysts led by Martin Wilkie.
