Tata Motors appoints Martin Uhlarik as global design head April 29, 2021 He will take over Pratap Bose Tata Motors announced on Thursday that Martin Uhlarik has been appointed as the new Global Design Head of the company. Uhlarik was till recently the Head of Design for Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) and takes over his new role from Pratap Bose who has chosen to pursue opportunities outside the company, Tata Motors said in a statement. Over the course of his 27-year career, Uhlarik has been involved in the design of successful nameplates with leading global OEMs. Since joining Tata Motors in 2016 as Head of Design, UK, he has led the development of the Impact 3 generation of vehicles.

In his place, Martin Uhlarik has stepped in. The latter was the Design Head for Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC). A 27-year career veteran, Uhlarik has been behind the design of many a successful global nameplate. He joined Tata Motors in the UK in 2016 and has been instrumental in the design of Impact III design language of the new vehicles. In his new role, he will continue to operate from TMETC in the UK. The three Tata Motors design centres in Pune, Italy and the UK will function under him. He will report to Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors. Uhlarik has a design degree in Industrial Design from Canada and a Transportational Design honours from Switzerland.

Martin Uhlarik, till recently Head of Design for Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) , has taken over as the new Global Design Head The news of Bose s resignation has come as a big surprise because he was a familiar face within the company and a favourite of the media.  An internal communique by the company states that Bose has decided to leave for better opportunities, a clear indication that he is heading out to another auto brand. The memo adds that he will proceed on leave for the reminder of his tenure.
