A tillage-farming multiple tug-of-war champion has been shortlisted for the World Games Greatest Athlete of All Time awards.
James Kehoe (64) from Boley, Ballycullane, Co Wexford was nominated by his colleagues in his local tug-of-war club for the international award without him knowing.
Mr Kehoe was up against 23 other candidates from across the globe, representing 23 sports including gymnastics, boules, climbing, squash and archery.
Now he has been shortlisted for the final 10 contestants, and he is currently lying in third place.
The World Games is an organisation made up of non-Olympic sports. Now in its 40th year, the games are held every four years.
