Student Technology Fee on ASUC elections ballot for renewal this April

The Student Technology Fund fee, which was recently added to the April ballot for renewal by the ASUC Senate, allows students to access Student Technology Helpdesk and Open Computing Facility services.
The Daily Cal received funds from the Student Tech Fund in 2017 and 2019.
Adobe Creative Cloud, Zoom Pro and laptop borrowing programs are all services covered by the Student Technology Fund, or STF, fee which was recently added to the April ballot for renewal by the ASUC Senate.
The existing fee totals $51 per student every semester and provides UC Berkeley undergraduates, graduates and professional school students with a range of technology services and support. Funds from the STF allow access to Student Technology Helpdesk and Open Computing Facility, or OCF, services, as well as software and project grants for student technology initiatives.

UC Berkeley Latinx Resource Center voted down in favor of event space

The ASUC Student Union Board of Directors denied a proposal to temporarily designate space for the Latinx Resource Center in the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union in a meeting Jan. 15.

A proposal to temporarily designate space in the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union for the Latinx Resource Center, or LRC, was voted down by the ASUC Student Union Board of Directors at its Jan. 15 meeting.
The board’s vote comes as two organizations currently residing in the student union’s fourth floor the Queer Alliance and Resource Center and the bridges Multicultural Resource Center are expected to transition into new spaces, according to Martin Siron, vice president of finance for the UC Berkeley Graduate Assembly.
