FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR Queensland in a low carbon global economy are on show with the Climate Council hosting leading innovators as part of the Supercharging Queensland Showcase to be held at Parliament House tonight (Tuesday 11th May).
Exhibitors representing renewable energy, the land sector, transport, tourism and civil society will gather to showcase cutting edge innovation and demonstrate tangible examples of the emerging opportunities for Queensland.
Keynote speakers include Minister for the Environment & Great Barrier Reef, Science and Youth, the Hon Meaghan Scanlon; along with local Government representatives from Bundaberg, Noosa and Logan.
As part of the event, the Climate Council will also unveil the Smart Solutions to Supercharge Queensland Policy Package outlining priority investments to create jobs, strengthen business and regional resilience and position Queensland as a leader on the world stage.

Can I suggest to our Prime Minister that for all his outrage over Christine Holgateâs spend, $20,000 is just a drop in the ocean when compared to his governments misuse of taxpayersâ money (âGovernment hits back at Holgateâs claims over exitâ, April 15)? Where does one start: the Christmas Island reopening photo opportunity; the $50 million spent on keeping the Murugappan family incarcerated on said island; the sports rorts scandal; the robodebts repayments; the community grants program; the repeated inquiries, investigations and finally a royal commission into age care; and the multiple positions on climate change?

ESPN reported that a group of Australian athletes is joining forces to push the government for more action on climate change. The group is speaking out after a release from the Climate Council that shared Australia’s summer sports could be in trouble.
