Sign replacement project on U.S. 50, K-61 in Reno County starts soon
The work along 67 miles of highway should have minimal impact on traffic.
Martin Outdoor Enterprises Inc., of Pittsburg, is the contractor for the $419,995 project.
Weather permitting, the work should be completed by mid-September.
KDOT on Tuesday also announced the award of another signing project in the county.
CC & I Engineering Inc., doing business as Compass Consultants, of Perham, Minnesota, was awarded the project to sign both major and minor collector roads in the county east of K-14 for $365,245. The project involves some 238 miles of roadway.

Crews are expected to begin a signing project that includes US-283, K-147 and K-4 highways in Ness, Lane, Trego and Rush counties on Tuesday, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
While work will take place on the shoulders, motorists should slow down and give crews room to work.
Martin Outdoor Enterprises Inc. of Pittsburg is the contractor on this $449,000 project, which is expected to be completed in August, weather permitting.
