Regional Professional Theatre of the MidSouth Announces 53rd Season and Return to In-Person Performances

After more than a year without in-person performances. Circuit Playhouse, Inc., the organization that includes The Circuit Playhouse, TheatreWorks @ the Square, and Playhouse on the Square has announced the return to in-person live professional theatre for its 53rd season. Beginning in July with a world premiere and winner of the company s national playwriting competition. The season will end in the summer 0f 2022 with a Playhouse revival and regional favorite. Subscriptions for the 53rd season are available for purchase at https://tickets.playhouseonthesquare.org and by calling the box office, (901) 726-4656. As a thank you for the support of their patrons throughout the pandemic, Playhouse on the Square is honoring the subscriptions that were purchased for the 2020-2021 season and were not used.

Harckham Holds Holiday Food Drive in Carmel Written by Office of Senator Pete Harckham New York State Senator Pete Harckham held a holiday food drive over the weekend in Carmel, where 30 volunteers collected about 8,000 pounds of donated food and $600 in contributions for the food pantries of the Gilead Presbyterian Church in Carmel Hamlet and the Putnam Community Action Program, both of which will help feed members of the community, including many seniors. The food drive, which was held on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Drew United Methodist Church and lasted around two hours, resulted in over 250 packed boxes of food, which included oatmeal, peanut butter, vegetable oil, rice, cold cereal, tuna, beans, canned soup, pasta, tomato sauce and other staples. Diapers, feminine products and reusable grocery bags were donated as well.
