CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - As part of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Citywide Celebrations out of Cape Girardeau, a National Day of Service Humanitarian Food Drive was set up on Monday to collect food.
People came to the Osage Center where they dropped off canned goods, non-perishable items, blankets, hats, gloves and more.
We spoke with one man who wanted to do his part and help someone in need.
“We would hope that would help them meet the needs that they need for food,” Carl Patterson said. “I think all of us can remember a sometime where we would probably welcome a little bit more than we had.”
