Hereford mayor s tribute to technician killed in ambulance crash

My husband first worked with Jack at Leominster ambulance station in 2008, Coun Hey said. Jack was by then already a vastly experienced paramedic – helping countless numbers of residents of Herefordshire and the wider West Midlands region in their hour of need. Jack was the quintessential paramedic – highly skilled, calm under pressure, compassionate and caring. Working in the emergency pre-hospital field for nearly 30 years is testament to Jack’s dedication to helping others. Away from his work, James told me that Jack always spoke fondly of his wife Dawn, their children and grandchildren. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about Roman history – he had been a member of the Ermine Street Guard and had a photo of himself in full Roman soldier’s uniform which he was very proud of.

Ambulance service tribute to loved colleague Jeremy Daw who died in A49 crash

Unfortunately, yesterday Jack, as he is known at the station to his close colleagues, passed away in a tragic incident. Nobody else was involved within the incident overall. It was an accident at this present moment in time. We are working with West Mercia Police to ensure that we can help them with the response to this incident. I would encourage anybody who did see the incident please come forward and contact West Mercia Police. Mr Hudson added that the service had received some unbelievable messages of condolence from across the country. Across the whole of the service everybody is mourning and also across the whole of the country really, he added.
