it is the top of hour on cnn newsroom. i m alisyn camerota. and i m victor blackwell. today two border state republicans are taking their immigration battle up north. but families are stuck in the middle. greg abbott ordered more than 1 100 migrants but bused and dropped off at kamala harris s home at the conservatory. they have already bused thousands of migrants to other states in recent weeks and they are said to be used as political pawns. the fact that fox news and not the department of homeland security, the city or local ngo s were alerted about a plan to leave migrants, including children on the side of a busy d.c. street makes clear this is just a cruel premeditated political stunt. and then there is florida governor ron desantis and he s gloating that he chartered two flights to carry migrants to martha s vineyard. including young children who were arriving without any warning to local officials who scrambled to set them up in a nearby church. but here is ho

controls, made a crash landing with no landing gear. both the pilot and the passenger survived. we have pete muntean joining us now. really unbelievable. thank goodness they both survived. this could have gone a very different way. what happened here? the passenger deserves so much credit here. a 68-year-old woman on board. and the 79-year-old pilot, she saved both of their lives in this crash landing. there s the video at the martha s vineyard airport. it s a single engine. hot little airport. $2 million. goes about 300 miles per hour. the ntsb is investigating what went wrong here, how this pilot had a medical emergency and what the nature of the medical emergency was. we re able to see from the flight aware track that the plane went around once and then flew around the airport two more times and then ended up like this. although, pretty good, they say any landing you can walk away
flying aflown with a pilot from westchester county, new york, to martha s vineyard saturday afternoon. according to massachusetts state police, the 79-year-old pilot was on final approach to martha s vineyard airport when he suffered a medical emergency. the female passenger then, incredibly, jumping into action taking the controls of the plane and crash landing just off the runway, coming to a stop on the plane s belly with no landing gear. the aircraft s left wing snapping in half. respond to the airport for an unknown medical reporter: the pilot and passenger were both raced to the hospital as the airport was shut down for a time. tonight, the faa and national transportation safety board are both investigating the crash. and, david, massachusetts state police say that that pilot was later airlifted by medical helicopter to boston hospital in serious life-threatening condition. as for that passenger turned pilot, david, she remarkably suffered no major injuries. that s just
