Police are investigating the murder of 23-year-old Dennis Robinson which took place on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Dangriga Town, Stann Creek. There were reports of shots being fired near the Monument Site area in the town at around 6:45 that evening and when police responded, they discovered Robinson’s lifeless body in an area off the road. The victim, who had dreadlocks, was dressed in a blue T-shirt and white pants and had four apparent gunshot wounds to the back, hand, and chest area. He was later identified as 23-year-old Dennis Robinson, a fisherman of the area.
Police investigation revealed that earlier that night, he had left his home to go to a shop. Some 15 minutes later as he was returning home, shots were heard and when Robinson’s father, Dennis Sr., went to see what had happened, he noticed his son’s lifeless body near their gate. A recent encounter with one of the many area teenagers YouthZone has taken under its wing was affirmation for Lori Mueller that, 44 years strong, the youth services organization she has led for the past nine years has an impact.
“I was in the Rifle office just before Christmas, and there was a young man in the corner on his laptop doing his homework,” Mueller recalled. “He said, ‘this is the best place I can go, because I know I can get help if I need it. And, you have internet.’”
It was one of those “ah-ha” moments that come every so often working with youth, she said.

Developer and property manager Petra bought a two-story retail and residential building at 29 E. Adams St. Downtown on Jan. 6 for $500,000, according to company vice president Elias Hionides.
Petra plans a $100,000 investment in cosmetic renovations to the two second-floor apartments. Hionides said Jan. 6 the three-bedroom market-rate units will be ready to rent by summer.
He said the ground floor will remain retail space and Petra intends to maintain the architectural features including the exterior archway.
The 9,500-square-foot building was developed in 1914 and designed by architect Henry John Klutho.
