We certainly lost one of the most interesting folks you will ever meet. He was an Agent Orange victim and fought itâs consequences for 40 years. A good Marine who always said heâd do it all again. He leaves behind a wife , Gail, of 62 years and three children, Elizabeth (deceased), Colleen Reed Ogden and her fiancee Timothy Gautier of Orlando, FL and Robert Langan Reed, Jr. and his wife Audrey of New Braunfels. Grandchildren, Travis Everett Sternberg , Casie Ogden Newcomb and husband Alan of Dallas, TX, Danielle-Rey Loni Martinez of Dallas, TX and Kai Michael Ogden of Austin, TX. The team behind Digital Sharing might not be best pleased with me likening their series to a ‘scratch night’ but there were moments when it felt like one. Most of the eighteen short plays were very good, with the odd one or two that were either too long (by which I mean ‘too slow’) or otherwise didn’t quite hit the spot. Others simply needed to be a little more developed:
CTRL + ALT + DELETE by Caroline Wilson and Angela Moneke involved a surprise online birthday party for Nina (Morayo Adeagbo), put together by her friends. The host, Maria (Alison Boateng) has the briefest of interactions with Nina’s estranged father Barry (Renford Warmington) before the party gets underway, but otherwise, the audience is simply watching other people having a catch-up and enjoying themselves, which is lovely, but hardly makes for gripping theatre. YOUNGSTOWN As they often do for social justice issues, the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown are collaborating with the Sisters of the Humility of Mary in Villa Maria, Pa., to combat hunger in our community.
The initiative was inspired by a challenge from the Leadership Conference of Women Religious for nuns across America leading up to Catholic Sisters Week, explains Ursuline Sister Mary Alyce Koval, who ministers as the parish leader for St. Luke Church in Boardman.
“We’re working to end hunger by heightening awareness to widespread food insecurity and its underlying causes,” she said. “We have a number of initiatives to directly fight hunger as well.”
