A speeding driver who crashed into several cars last month on the Near West Side and killed a 1-year-old girl has been charged with reckless homicide, police say.
Damien Davis is also charged with misdemeanor driving with a revoked license and speeding 35 mph over the limit in the crash that killed Jamyah Harris, according to Chicago police.
Davis, 35, was speeding in a Chrysler shortly after midnight May 27 and slammed into a double-parked Toyota sedan occupied by Jamyah and two others in the 300 block of South Western Avenue, police said. Related
Jamyah was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. The other two women in the car refused medical attention.
