Six people were killed in valhalla about 20 miles north of new york city when a train collided with an suv. As investigators continue to look into the tragic wreck, the big question theyre facing is why did the driver stop her suv on the tracks. Don champion reports. Reporter 24 hours after the fiery crash, the cars of the metro north train were towed back down the tracks. Earlier on wednesday whats left of the suv that triggered the deadly collision was lifted from the front of the train. The driver of that vehicle was identified as 49yearold ellen brody. Tonight, investigators from the National Transportation safety board are on the scene of a horrifying rail disaster. It happened about 20 miles north of new york city at the end of the tuesday evening rush. A commuter train out of Grand Central terminal slammed into an suv that stopped on a crossing. The explosion lit up the night sky. The driver and five on the train were killed. Several others were injured. Vinita nair is in valhalla new york. Reporter investigators spent the day shifting through charred wreckage trying to figure out why the train plowed into an suv at 60 miles per hour.
